A back-to-basics tour of the McNay Collection. For visitors who want to see the McNay’s hot spots, this tour highlights Marion Koogler McNay’s bequest of her home and art collection with particular emphasis on 20th and 21st-century modernist artists Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Diego Rivera among others.
The McNay Residence and Stieren Center for Exhibitions are architectural works of art. Marion Koogler McNay’s residence was completed in 1929. In 1954, the McNay Art Museum opened to the public. Discover the Spanish Colonial Revival residence’s decorative features from myriad tiles to the wrought iron grilles and stenciled ceilings. Designed by internationally renowned architect Jean-Paul Viguier, the Stieren Center for Exhibitions opened in 2008. Capturing the South Texas light, the Stieren Center provides an ideal space for large exhibitions and showcases 20th- and 21st-century sculpture from the McNay’s collection.

Docent-guided tours are $15 per adult (20+), and $10 per teen (13–19). McNay members and children 12 & under are FREE! Staff-guided tours are $30 per person and do not qualify for a Member discount. The price of all tours includes admission to the entire museum for the whole day.
Tours are offered during regular business hours. We open at 10 am Wednesday through Saturday, and at noon on Sundays. We close at 6 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, 5 pm on weekends, and 9 pm on Thursday nights. Tours must be scheduled at least 1.5 hours before the Museum closes.
