Enjoy a Tour and a Cocktail

Go on a customized, behind-the-scenes tour with a curator at the McNay.

Exclusive Museum Tours with McNay Curators

Do you have friends you want to impress with your “insider access?” Are you curious about what’s behind the “staff only” doors at the McNay? Do you want to see an art exhibition before anyone else in town? Need an extraordinary gift for a friend or family member?

The McNay now offers private, customized, behind-the-scenes and after-hours tours with a Museum curator for groups of up to 12 people. Curator Tours take you into non-public areas, exhibitions under construction, current banner exhibitions, permanent collection galleries, or give you one-on-one access with exhibiting artists. Your tour details are customized in advance with one of the Museum’s curators around a specific theme, a current exhibition, or a group of favorite artists and artworks.

Curator Tours are hosted by Head of Curatorial Affairs René Paul Barilleaux, Assistant Curator Lauren Thompson, or Curator of Prints and Drawings, Curator of Modern Art Lyle Williams. Tours run 45 to 60 minutes, and are complemented with a cocktail reception. These exclusive Curator Tours are available only after regular Museum hours on Sundays through Wednesdays, when you will have the McNay to yourselves! Total cost for up to 12 individuals is $2500.

For more information or to schedule your exclusive tour, contact Julie McGarraugh by phone or email.
