Sandra Lopez joined the McNay Art Museum as Head of Finance on September 27, 2021.  Sandra graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.  She began her accounting career in public accounting and has been working in the nonprofit sector for the past eleven years.  Sandra’s thirty-five years of experience includes accounting, auditing, and tax.

As Head of Finance, Sandra oversees the development and operation of the financial management function, including budgeting, auditing, accounting, and financial reporting for the Museum. 

Outside of work, Sandra and her husband of thirty years love traveling and dancing.  Her two daughters are also in the accounting profession.

Some of her favorite artworks are from The Art of SA Eats at the McNay.  Eva Marengo Sanchez’s paintings of conchas remind Sandra of wonderful family gatherings that included pan dulce.
